3D-Cad

WesJack Dynamics is proficient in multiple advanced 3D CAD platforms, including Tekla Structures and SolidWorks, allowing us to maintain maximum flexibility for our clients. By leveraging the strengths of different software, we tailor our workflow to match the specific requirements of each project—whether it's complex structural steel detailing or custom fabricated components. This multi-platform expertise enables us to deliver efficient, accurate, and client-focused solutions every time.

Tekla Structures – Precision detailing for structural steel, connections, and erection plans.

Tekla Structures is our primary tool for structural steel detailing, offering unmatched accuracy for creating shop drawings, erection plans, and fully coordinated 3D models. Designed specifically for the steel industry, it allows us to handle everything from complex connection design to clash detection and material tracking. With Tekla, we ensure that every part is modeled to fabrication-ready precision, streamlining communication between design, shop, and field.

SolidWorks – Versatile 3D modeling for custom stairs, railings, and structural components.

SolidWorks serves as our go-to tool for general-purpose 3D modeling, especially when it comes to custom structural components, stairs, and architectural steel elements. Its intuitive interface and powerful parametric modeling capabilities allow us to efficiently create and modify complex geometries, ensuring accurate fit and function. Whether it’s a one-off fabrication or part of a larger structural assembly, SolidWorks helps us bring precision and flexibility to every stage of the design process.

3D Laser Scanning

Our 3D CAD workflow ties directly to field-verified data from our 3D laser scanning service, so models and drawings reflect real site conditions.

Trimble Connect Integration

We share models and drawings through Trimble Connect for fast reviews and field access.

Steel Detailing File Deliverables

We support a wide range of file exports to meet your shop and coordination needs:

We package everything your shop and field need in a clean, consistent set. That includes PDFs of shop and erection drawings, NC1 (DSTV) machine files for beams, columns, angles, and plates, DXF profiles for laser and plasma cutting, and IFC models for coordination and layout. You also receive an Advanced Bill of Materials (ABOM) with piece marks, quantities, weights, and finish, plus bolt lists and summaries. For data handoff, we provide KISS or, XML exports, and as of 2025 direct exports to Tekla PowerFab for material management, purchasing, and production control. Files are organized by lot or sequence with clear naming and revision control, and we can publish the model and drawings to Trimble Connect or deliver by your preferred method. The goal is simple: drawings that are easy to read and files that plug into your workflow without extra steps.

These outputs are optimized for compatibility across a wide range of fabrication environments and software systems.
